powers of reading
i wish i can ask H if he read a lot
he always saw right through me and knew what i wanted to say
amazing cognitive empathy
and i am starting to feel like i have this gift too
for example, i saw a tamino interview
the interviewer said "what colour would you be if you were a colour?"
he said "black" (this was obvious)
she said "oh for some reason i thought you'd say white"
he said "um, no, it's black"
and i noticed two things:
(1) she was wearing white
(2) he wasn't curious why she thought he'd say white, didn't bother to ask
in other words: they are both self-absorbed.
if i were him, i would've smirked and said "oh" and looked down (he looks good when he looks down, because his eyelashes are enormously long) and then looked back up and said "is that because you're wearing white?"
JUST TO SEE WHAT SHE WOULD SAY!
i like saying things that ask people to respond in unexpected ways
H said things like that a lot
he's a little more subtle
but he lets you know: he's onto you
you know i think the skills i once admired in H were all contained in books and it's not until i started reading literary fiction that i gained all of these powers...
freud thinks that you become the person you love in order to never be apart from them
i guess that is happening to me on a conscious deliberate level
and now that i have this power i have less capacity for admiration; i really admired luciano for a second there because of his tenacity of spirit
but H has that too
and more
he has verbal&existential intelligence AND cognitive empathy
i should've been reading long ago
more to say on this subject maybe...
