I googled that sentence so I can hear this very sentiment from someone else but no one said it
This world is just so materialistic that people are asking “will reading make me a millionaire”?

Well what I mean by rich is that I think I’m a French or English aristocrat.
Why is it exactly? What is it about books?

Well phones make me feel rather impoverished. When you go to a third world country you see people in dirty cotton pajamas and flip flops carrying — absorbed in — smartphones. You never see them with a book
Books are the opposite of smartphones
Books are tea and Alice in wonderland pastries and lounging about languidly on grass under a weeping cherry willow with a picnic blanket and time to waste and nothing to do. Not a concern in the world. Nothing, nothing to do.
“How to get rich quick” type books are not books they are just another product in the capitalistic machinery made for the idiots who buy them
Books are steinway pianos and petting a kitten and summer cottage homes in Switzerland with ripe cherry pies and winters on a private South African game reserve safari and lionfish carpaccio
Books are the presidential suite on the orient express.
